The Labyrinth
The Mesopotamians would open up animals and predict the future through the shape the entrails made. They beleived that the shape of intestines mirrored the shape of the future. One cannot help but wonder how the Mesopotamians came to hold this beleif. After all, what bearing do organs inside the body have on the future? How can the future retroactivley shape the body? The Mesopotamians can only partially explain the etymology of the labyrinth. The other half of the word's definition comes from the Minotaur.
